Emigrating from China at the age of 10, Nancy arrived in the United States as a young student in Richardson ISD, ready to immerse herself in the English language and American culture…

Achieving a balance between the discipline/work ethic of the Chinese education system, and finding her unique individualism in America, Nancy describes herself as ambitious. I believe in self-actualization; to be the best that we can be, she explained. Ill never know the extent of my abilities, if I dont push myself Its a lukewarm triumph to lapse into cynicism as a way to excuse yourself from trying…

See, that’s the goal. Harvard is the brand name proxy for elite college. So smalltown papers like to publish stories. So Byerly puts them up here. And then you guys want even more to go to Harvard. It’s ingenious, really.

BTW, I am a Princeton alumna, you can find my whole history all over this site, also the history of my D so let’s just take my comment here on face value and anyone who wants to research my biases, which I fully acknowledge, can do so.

It is still true that it is ingenious to post these small town paper announcements. The only comparable way I have to market Princeton is to insist everyone visits the campus…

The magic draw of a possible Harvard education even seduced the knowledgeable and sophisticated Alumother family and her only begotten daughter, kiddies, as she will no doubt acknowledge!

Man, Harvard isn’t perfect for all people who get accepted. It may be a shock at how the school is not “the great school” a student expected it to be.

Harvard has its good points, but it definitely has its bad points.

Byerly: I’m already IN for SSP!! Even though SSP is less competitive to get into, who cares it’s still Harvard!!!
I hope you are right about the “when I get in” part: (My ECs and APs rock but my sat IIs are only in upper 600s )
