Plasma vs. DLP

I’m not sure if any of you have technical knowledge or not, but I have a question regarding DLP vs. Plasma televisions. I’m planning to buy one, but I’m not sure which to get. The prices are very similar, and the screen size isn’t that important. Here they are:

50" Samsung DLP
-The fact that it lasts longer is great, as well as the 720p resolution.

42" Daytek (Daewoo) Plasma
-Perhaps better (?) but its EDTV with a resolution of 852 x 480 which may not look as good as the Samsung with HDTV programming.

What does everyone think?

Thanks!

You know I’d go with the DLP. Plasma looks better but they can have serious problems with break crystals. I’ve been very pelased with what I’ve seen out of the DLP TV’s of late. However to be honest I’m much more a sound expert then video.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone else?

Samsung DLP hands down, getting a plasma with EDTV is just plain wrong. My bro owns the same exact Samsung (im assuming) and the picture on HDTV programming is amazing.
