Yeah I had the Turkey. I’m done Next place !!
I think JJ’s overall flavor is good, but it’s a challenge for me to eat one – the meat/cheese bundle in the middle is constantly wanting to slide out. So I take a bite, then push the slippery meat/cheese back into the roll. Good thing it’s not a race. hehe
Oy:
We were driving in upstate NY and was hungry for dinner. We stopped at a rest-stop that had Shake-Shack, Panera, and Chick-filA.
We paid $76 for 3 sets of sandwiches/shakes/fries at Shake-shack. $76!!!
I do love their plain crispy crinkle fries.
I love a Shack Burger at Shake Shack and for H and I it is not an expensive lunch if we are at the mall. A Shack Burger is $7.79 and H and I each get one. No fries or shakes, just water to drink.
Yes so pricey! But then again, we ordered a pizza last night from our local pizzeria and it was $50! For one pizza with 4 toppings. Insane prices even at fast food (and face it, most of the places mentioned in this thread are fast food, not actual restaurants. We avoid ff as much as possible. My kids had never eaten at McD’s until they went as teens/young adults with friends).
I will absolutely forgo splurges elsewhere to add a shake at Shake Shack.
We grabbed Shake Shack and Bojangles at the Charlotte airport on our way out to St. Martin. We don’t have either in Davenport, so this was a chance to try both, and we took advantage.
We got a Shack Burger combo for like $13 (not too bad, I thought, for airport prices) and two fried chicken sandwiches at Bojangles with Bo sauce on the side. We shared the burger, fries, and soda and each wolfed down our own chicken sandwich… and the total came to like $30 – not too awful. Everything was delicious.
Were my taste buds off, or is the Shack Sauce some sort of smoky garlic mayo? The color is like Mac sauce, but the flavor is totally different.
You can’t not have a shake at Shake Shack. It’s in the name!
Have actually never had a Shake Shack shake. I prefer a glass of wine as a splurge, not something sweet!
Not necessarily fast food, but I used to love getting a Slurpee and Slim Jim after school as a kid. I kept up the Slurpee habit for years until I gave up sugar. Now whenever I walk by a Slurpee machine, all I can see is all the little gnats flying around.
I may be wrong but I think that roadside rest stop restaurants seem to up their prices.
I’ve never been to shake shack nor ever tried a $50 pizza! That’s some pricey pizza! The nearby pizza places we go to you can generally get a 12” pizza for under $20.
Piology is pretty decent, in that you get to choose how to customize, and though prices have gone up, it’s still <$15 apiece.
Well, I won’t soon be going back to the $50 pizza place. Had no idea they raised their prices and charge for toppings. And we can make decent pizza at home. It’s not quite like the wood-fired pizza place, but it’s still pizza, which is always good in my opinion.
Wow, the most expensive pizza we order is a $28 grandma pie, which seems crazy since a few years ago you could get a regular pie for $8 at some places.
Aren’t toppings always extra? We have an amazing wood fired place in town that charges close to $20 for personal sized pies (that’s the only size), but the ingredients are fantastic.
Maybe? I don’t eat there enough and look at the bill tbh. (My husband usually orders and picks it up.) Yes, it’s really good pizza and toppings are terrific (locally sourced, organic, etc. And maybe they pay their employees a living wage in a HCOL area, all things I consoled myself with as I swiped my card!)
Only 2 pizzerias in our town don’t deliver, 1 is 60 years old and there is always a huge line for pickup (in business 60 years) and the new wood fired place (which needs to be eaten right out of the oven of as soon as possible).
There are no South Shore Bar Pizza chains currently. All of the pizzas we buy are from local establishments. There are no overly expensive bar pizzas.
What’s the dirt on Sonic? I just noticed there’s one near S23s new apartment.
The Capital Grille is a chain restaurant. I pick that one.
