play up multiracial?

<p>I am half hispanic (Panama) and half south asian (India)…is this like being a URM? These are two completely opposite cultures meeting. Should I play it up and talk about diversity and the great american melting pot? Or should I downlplay it and report that I am only hispanic? </p>

<p>My hispanic heritage is more ingrained in my life mainly due to the fact that my moms family is close in panama and my dads is in India which I have never visited.</p>

<p>If it has honestly been a large part of your life, and contributed to what makes you you, if you can earnestly write about the effect it’s had on you, I think it could make a good essay.</p>

<p>However, if you’re just writing about ethnicity for the sake of writing about ethnicity, most of the time, it will show, and you’ll set yourself behind.</p>
