Playing D1/D3 Sports with limited HS experience?

I’m currently in 11th grade and I want to play D1 or D3 for either golf, football or crew. The problem is for football and crew is I only have a year of HS experience (before I moved from the US to Asia). Is it still possible to maybe work my way to up to these teams? I shoot mid to high 70s in golf, row about a 6:35 2k and no real stats for football (6ft - 175). Looking to go to a NESCAC, Ivy or Patriot League school

Are those golf scores in AJGA tournaments? Your current golf score likely won’t get you recruited at the schools you listed. Maybe Wesleyan or Colby IF these are results in AJGA tournaments. You can go on the various schools’ websites and see how that score matches up to gauge potential walk on chances.

For football…you might be able to walk on depending on your speed (since you are bit undersized as well as inexperienced). I would give a lot of thought to playing football against experienced players because the injury risk is real.

For crew, I don’t think that 2k time is recruitable at your set of schools. Whether or not you can walk-on will be school dependent.

I would encourage you to reach out to coaches and ask questions. Also consider expanding your list of D3 schools if you want to play a sport.

Not AJGAtournaments. For football, I’m playing rugby here so maybe that transfers over? The crew I only have a year of experience in ninth grade.

IMO yes, but I’m not a football coach! I don’t think recruiting is in the cards without actual playing experience, but many football teams at the schools you listed take quite a few walk-ons. They might not play often, but I’ve seen some work their way into the lineup.

Looking at some D3 golf results and I think I should be good but I’ll have to talk to coaches - ranges from 75-85

You are going to have to show them scores in competition on courses that approximate the length and difficulty of the courses the teams are playing. Maybe play some junior tournaments? I don’t know where you live so that could entail travel, but junior tournaments run year round.
