Playing Music In Dorms

What about the issue of playing music in college? I personally will be annoyed if rock music is constantly played. But then again, I don’t think I can survive without blasting Mariah Carey and lipsyncing to Always Be My Baby. Oh what to do? Is there any compromise? Maybe I should try some of Kelly Clarkson to create equal ground…

Headphones.

you’re my new best friend.

i blasted music at times when the dorm wasn’t full and on weekends more and less around finals and stuff. also not late at night. just do it when you think it’s appropriate. and if someone has a problem then they’ll probably tell you and just be nice and say sorry, which no one did to me.

headphones aren’t effective for satisfying any mariah carey craving.

holy cow, i absolutely love Mariah Carey (only her old school stuff). it’s like my dirty little secret that everyone knows and makes fun of me for it…

it’s not a dirty little secret to like old school mariah. it’s a dirty little secret to like new mariah…which i still do. i mean, def no where near what she was, but she can still sing, unlike some crackheads i know. coughwhitneyhoustoncough

You remember the video for Always Be My Baby? When she was on the tire swing and they cut away to a far away view, you could clearly tell it was a stunt double.

I thought this was gonna be about music…not crap like mariah carey…j/k

Mariah Carey will be one of those things that people fondly remisnice about in the year 2013 at '90s parties.

i’m glad i’m not alone in my love for mariah!!!

and i actually love her new stuff too, but i felt that if i divulged that piece of info i would be ostracized…

just the the record if i was in the dorm next to you and you started blasting maria carey I would probably just start bashing my head into the wall until i passed out.

I’d dance into your room naked until you ran out…then i’d get on your computer and delete all of that horrid music :)

You and I will always be…you and I…you and I…

Yeah, found my new roommate, we should get a suite!

Well, my Hall Director lives right below me and blasts music during the day with his big ass sound system. But it’s good music, so no one really minds. Although I was slightly bothered when I woke up from my midday nap the other day to gangster rap. Other than that, I would say don’t turn your music too loud or buy an iPod or something so your neighbors don’t have to hear it.

I blast music all the time in the dorms, but nothing too loud and obnoxious. Most of the time, my roommates weren’t around. I hope the same can be said this year.

I am surprised, I’ve only heard one room that was blasting music, and that wasn’t even in my dorm.

There is an easy compromise. You can blast your ear-drums out playing the music you like, while at the same time not turning everyone in the vicinity of your dorm room into homicidal maniacs.

It’s called headphones.

They’re surprisingly good quality too, although the bass on them can be a little limited. I don’t even use speakers anymore if I can help it.

I blast my 400 watt speakers during the afternoons right now in Welcome Week, when we’re not doing anything; also on the weekends as well. Mostly to be obnoxious.
