So, I am a senior this year about to graduate. My GPA is 3.63 weighted and I have an ACT of 27 (R-32,S-28,E-25,M-24)
One distinction on grades is that I had a 3.2 GPA my fresh/soph year (No AP’s or E.C.'s)
My Jr and Sr years I have a 3.8 uw and 4.0 Weighted (4 AP’s, 4 Adv/JS, 4 E.C (Leadership roles in 2))
My original plan was to take a scholarship at a local university (Would have made the cost around 1k plus books a year)
vs the local cc (which would have been roughly 500 plus books a year)
However, I live in TN which recently adopted a free cc plan.
So University stayed the same about 1k a year plus books
but cc is free and the cc informed me that with my grades they would cover the books via scholly
The cc is 10 miles closer as well so I decided to accept the cc offer as I also believed I stood a higher chance of landing high position extra curriculars at the cc.
The university does offer a decent sized transfer scholly so it would only cost me 1.5k plus books after transferring(assuming I do choose this college)
Is this a good calculated risk or a playing with fire scenario?
