Please Break My Heart

I mean Chance Me! For any UC if i have a shot.

I know my chances are low but i want to know how low.
(currently in community college)

MAJOR: Computer Science
took one computer science class. Got a B. Will take 2 more spring semester
IGETC will be complete by end of Spring
Current GPA:3.0
Max GPA by End of Spring: 3.4
Realistic GPA by End of Spring: 3.2

Low Grades due to WORK

EC: Rock Band + Have Been Producing Music for 4 Years

For the personal statement:
-Don’t have experience in CompSci but my Dad is a programmer
-Would telling a wild story you would see in a movie (related to producing music) be appropriate?

Please and thank you!

Sorry i meant:

Max GPA by End of Fall: 3.25
Realistic GPA by End of Fall: 3.0

UCs are only going to see your GPA until the end of this fall. With a 3.0, you probably have a shot at UCR, UCM, and UCSC, the rest are probably going to be hard to get into. 3.25, you might have a chance at UCSB or UCD but I don’t know how selective their CS programs are.

Thanks for the reply.

I just realized i’m chock-full of ECs. I’ve been constantly working an average of 30 hrs a week since i was 17.

I was a shift leader at my first job (movie theater) and my current job title at a medical spa is ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT.

So how are my chances lookin now? :D

I know everyone hates chance threads but you are potentially saving lives here!

Don’t count too mch on your EC’s making a big difference. They will review them and take them into account, but GPA and completion of major requirements are still definitely the most important factors. I’m not an admissions officer so I can’t guarantee anything, but you can safely assume UCLA and Berkeley are out of the question. UCSD and UCD probably as well. Best you can do is apply to any school that you want to go to and cross your fingers.

Your job titles are pretty irrelevant. Calm down.
