<p>Here are my stats:
-rank somewhere in the top 10 of my class out of ~700, not exactly sure where though
-4.0 uw gpa, 4.8333 w
- 29 ACT, this is where the problem is. I got a 30+ in each section except I had about a
fifth of the science section to go so I only got a 25 there bringing all of my 30+s down.
Of course I will be retaking and plan to do some hardcore studying (any tips for the
science section, anyone?)
-all honors and AP with 6 APs senior year alone so definitely most rigorous sched. possible
and even out of everybody else too
- first generation and fluent in 2 languages, moderate in a 3rd
- ECs are okay I think, nothing spectacular really:
- Secretary of Spanish Club (going for president this year)
- Link Crew Leader- freshman mentor
-Cleveland Zoo volunteer
-Girls State delegate
-job at a grocery store
-first chair of my section in orchestra (but I had to quit because of scheduling
conflicts)
-I might begin volunteering at a hospital and children’s home if accepted as a
volunteer
-have done costumes for the school play
- LOTS of babysitting as I had to take care of my younger brother and the house
everyday after school until 1 am since my parents worked weird shifts during 9th and
10th grade which is why I don’t have that great of ECs but apparently colleges love
this kind of stuff?
- I write a political blog but idk if this counts as an EC</p>

<p>Soo funny because I also have a 29 act, was a girls state delegate this year (in IL) AND want to POSSIBLY apply early to cornell…</p>
<p>That being said, I agree that our ACTs are probably our biggest problems…but depending on the programs you apply to at cornell, it may possibly be different. I saw someone who got into the ILR program (which is what im interested in) with a 28 and with ECs very similar to yours. </p>
<p>Also, I would certainly mention the political blog as an EC. it sounds interesting! I would include the link to it too when you list it…</p>

<p>I think in general, you’ve got a good shot at a lot of these colleges. Some of them I’m not familiar with them, but your weighted sure does stand out, and your EC’s are good enough, at least I feel. With those I am familiar with, Cornell will always be tough to get into, but your weighted does seem to match it. I say go for ED with Cornell, you got a good shot. Btw, Northeastern or Northwestern? Case Western and NYU you have a high match there. Not completely familiar with the others as much, so that’s all I gotta say. Best of luck!</p>

<p>Im thinking about doing ILR as my first choice and CALS as my alternate (because of the AEM program). Im planning to visit in a couple of weeks so I guess that will really seal the decision for whether or not I will apply ED…</p>
<p>Also, I believe you need subject tests for CAS at cornell in addition to the ACT.</p>
