You’re stats put you in the running. Something needs to pop, especially if you’re considering HYP, in terms of a passion or well developed EC/unusual achievement/awards. Also, paid for summer programs are not a good use for summers when aiming for an ivy. A job at McDonalds would be better.

Thanks for commenting, Waverly! Why do you feel the summer program is not a good idea? Do you think it could actually do harm? The Brown program is only two weeks. Already work part-time.

Many kids think summer programs at ivies will help them get into one or be an advantage at the particular ivy. They don’t do either. It won’t hurt, but you can use the summer time to do things that will impress admissions officers such as competitive free programs, jobs, research, volunteer work, etc.
