Please chance for WashU and UofC :)

Should my cousin choose to attend WashU or Chicago should he be admitted to both? They are his top choices, he plans to study bio (pre med track).
GPA 3.89
SAT 2100
decent EC’s

collegechica7, honestly the scores are a bit on the low side for both schools. It would help if you would post some more info regarding ECs, location and whether or not your cousin plans on retaking the SATs. If not, maybe he (or she) should try a LAC like Haverford or Davidson or one of the lower Ivies like Cornell. Maybe a larger state school like UMich, even. A 2100 would be competitive at most of those schools.

Really, though, its a crap shoot at any of the schools at this level so I’d suggest that your cousin re-take the SATs to get into the 2200-2300 range.

collegechica is a committed, zealous anti U chicago ■■■■■ spewing venom at U Chicago in every possible way. This thread is probably a ploy to come up with more opportunities to trash the school.

don’t feed the ■■■■■.

Science fiction is absolutely correct. Wouldn’t be surprised if she has been recently reported for her unrelenting denigrations of the school, actually. And probably will be again. She doesn’t seem to realize that this behavior can ultimately get her banned from CC. This is WITHOUT QUESTION, then, a ploy that should be ignored.

Just confirming science fiction’s warning to the UChicago community about OP and her disturbing behavior on this forum.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the warning.

I have had a change of heart. Please give me the chance to become a valuable member of the cc community. I was naive and stupid, and should never have said harsh things about chicago and its students. It is definitely a good school that many people would be happy to attend. Please forgive my indiscretions.

^ In that case… depends on class rank and extracurriculars. Numbers are below mean for a nonminority at Chicago either via EA or RD, but at the medians for WashU ED. If CR and ECs are decent, almost certainly in at WashU ED, but they’d have to be usually good for Chicago. Then again, admissions officers sometimes like to ■■■■■ the community by admitting obviously underqualified students…

^thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it.
