Please chance me! All of the chance threads are dead.

I'm applying to UCSC, SB, and Davis. i'm pretty sure I'll get into those. But i'm super unsure about Berkeley. Want to know whether I should bother spending the $60.

Essays are pretty solid.

Applying Undeclared L&S

Any thoughtful input would be great!

You should bother spending the $60.

yeah, you only apply once. you seem to have pretty decent stats. It also matters if your school is good or not. Like if your school is known for having people of your stats go to Cal then, your chance increases. Yeah, 2 jobs is tough (what kind matters) and i would say your extracurricular is a little weak b/c there isn't a lot of consistencies. Buy non the less, pretty good chances, hopefully you endure hardship and demonstrate leadership ahah. Gl

My school is pretty new actually -- it's only been open for three years and last year was our first graduating class. A lot of money was spent on it though and I think we have pretty strong STAR scores and AP scores, etc. I'm not sure how we're ranked though, but probably not that high because we're so new. I knew one girl who matriculated to Cal from last year's class...but that's it. Maybe more I don't know of though.

Yeah, my extracurriculars are kinda sketch. My jobs are just as sales associates, at Zumiez, and Michaels now lol. But i've moved schools so it took me a while to get into things (ECs). And I put my social life before a lot of things that I probably shouldn't!

But thanks for the replies! More are welcome :]

I say - Apply, Apply, Apply to UCB and UCLA- your chances are pretty good from what I see! Worth the try...

Certificate of Merit in Piano Level 2

I'm not sure whether you should put this specific award on your application. At the very least you should think about it; it might be better just to say how long you've played piano and stuff, because most other people who put CM on will be like...Advanced. XD (this is not an application breaker, so don't stress out; just something to be aware of)

Since it won't really hurt you, apply! What if you get in? This is the one and only time you're applying to college (unless you switch, and applying to grad/professional school is a bit different). You're strong enough that it wouldn't be a shock if you got in; what do you have to lose? ($60, I know). ELC acceptance rate is somewhere between 50% and 60% (or was for the previous incoming freshman class), fyi. Good luck!

-edit-

Also, unless you plan to go to SC if you get in (over Davis), I would consider not applying because Davis already guarantees ELC people acceptance into their first choice major I believe (or they did last year; wouldn't hurt to do a quick check).

If you're SURE that you'll get into Davis and Santa Barbara, and Berkeley seems like a school you'd like to go to, why would you Not apply?
And if you say money's the reason, then.....I don't know what to say to you.

It's not the money, I was just wondering if I had a good chance.

December 2008 Subjects:

Lit - 800
Math II - 710
Spanish - 610 [probably shouldn't have taken this but I thought I would do worse on Math lol]

go for it, you should get in if you do.

You're likely to get in.
