bump…anyone

Match. There are so many students here with your resume its ridiculous- the admissions season will be even more intense for the class of '14, so write a stunning essay and you’ll have a great shot.

Dear maddhandles : Your two-way SAT I score is right at the 25th-percentile meaning that your board scores would be the bottom quartile of the average accepted class. This is a very atypical performance for someone reported in the Top 5% of their graduating class so retaking the SAT should be part of your senior year strategy. Your ACT score at 31 is a more attractive number, but that too could use some polishing as an extra point on the cumulative score could move you towards the top quartile. What concerns me about your profile is that your SAT II scores reflect the same lower 600 scores as seen on the SAT I which might be an indication of the grading rigor you have seen to date at your high school. Again, it is very unusual not to see a 700+ score somewhere in a top student - even moreso to see these types of scores from someone in a Calculus AP curriculum.

The Future Business Leaders area and leadership position will play well in your application with CSOM. Your sports, working experience, and school programs are all very strong and complete. Your number of hours per week seem excessive since with time in the classroom, we counted a 70+ hour week if all of your weekly time estimates are accurate. If this is true, time management at college should not be an issue for sure.

If yours is a regular decision application, you are a 50/50 proposition on acceptance, largely due to your community engagements. If this was a year where the board scores take a very high priority, you are in trouble on the SAT side of things, so be very careful with the scores you submit and take extra care with your essay. Good luck.

thanks guys - much appreciated.

Also the extracurricular activities are not every single week of the year. I forgot to put the number of weeks per year for each activity. Sorry about that. scottj - I am most likely not sending my SAT I scores because my ACT appears to be more attractive, like you said. Also, Boston College does not require SAT II scores so I am not sure if I should send those scores because they seem to weaken my application. Any other advice?
