Please chance me for Duke!

<p>Hi guys, I'm a junior who would like to go to Duke (planning to apply ED).
I'm from a private prep school just north of New York City—well respected by colleges, good admissions track record. Really appreciate everyone's help. Not applying as a recruited athlete. </p>

Freshman: 5 courses, 1 honors: 3.75</p>

<p>Sophomore: 5 courses, 1 honors: 4.0 </p>

<p>Junior (so far):7 courses (3 AP's): 3.77 unweighted</p>

<p>Senior: TBD, likely 6 classes and 2-3 AP's </p>

<p>Top tenth percentile (rank not disclosed) </p>

<p>SAT: 2330
- 800 Critical
- 780 Writing (11 essay)
- 750 Math</p>

<p>SAT II scores: Taking Math II and English in the Spring.
AP scores: Taking 3 AP tests this Spring. </p>

- Editor: 11
- Virtually guaranteed the Editor-in-Chief position for Senior year.</p>

<p>If your SAT II scores look anything like your SAT I scores, then IMO you'll only need to worry about the rigor of your classes. Your ECs are also pretty outstanding, so I'll be very surprised if you don't matriculate.</p>

<p>You look strong and I'd say you should get in if you apply ED. Your ECs seem really cool, how did you get an IB internship out of high school (just curious, I hear they are tough to get while in college never mind HS). You definitely look like a strong applicant though.</p>

<p>Thanks, guys. About the IB/finance internships, I must admit that two out of three were through family/friend connections. The NYSE was a selective internship program that I applied for through my school, with which the NYSE has a special relationship.</p>

<p>those are pretty cool. I was hooked up with internships based off of connections too and they definitely help. You definitely look like a solid applicant though.</p>
