Strong candidate!

I’d say GT is a match since you are in state. It’s a great program at a great school and I think you have a solid chance of getting in.

UGA, KSU and GSU are likelies

Ivies and UCs are reaches for everyone.

Not all UCs are reaches for everyone. However, admission for CS is typically more difficult than for most other majors.

Thank you everyone for the responses so far! I forgot to mention that my uc gpa is a 4.0uw and I think a 4.6-7 W

UC frosh admission stats by general major grouping can be found at Freshman admission by discipline | University of California . Computer science is listed as a general major grouping at most campuses, but not at Merced (where it exists and is presumably included under engineering).

GPA is the weighted capped version (see GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub ).

thanks! I calculated my gpa and its a 4.0 uw, 4.25 capped, and 4.7 w

You probably have a shot at just about every school on your list. However, when acceptance rates are <10%, things can get VERY unpredictable. As long as you have a solid safety or two, you’re good. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you got some reach-y acceptances.

thank you!

Great student - since you have no budget issues, why GSU and KSU.

I’d replace them with very solid flagships like Ohio State, Penn State, UMD, UMASS, etc.

I think you’re probably a match for GT unless it becomes a numbers game with your high school.

Would you take a pathway option if offered?

I chose GSU and KSU as my safety schools. I might not apply if I end up getting into GT Early tho. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you! I think I would take the transfer pathway option if i am offered it, despite not being able to transfer into cs. Also, could you clarify what you mean by a numbers game with my high school? Thanks!

GT might only accept X number of kids from the same high school. Once they hit that number even well qualified candidates won’t be admitted. A very competitive high school could have many qualified candidates but only be “slotted” so many slots. It becomes a numbers game.

Oh, that makes sense. Thank you!
