Hi everyone!

I am trying to get into The Lawrenceville School. I am starting high school next year (2026-27). I don’t have any SSAT scores yet and will be taking them soon.

Overview

  • I am a student based in the US
  • I am from the NJ area.
  • I am currently in public school in NJ.

Academics

  • Straight A student
  • Competed in Community Project (a part of Future Problem Solving Program International) for 3 years running.
    • Placed first in the States 2 years in a running.
    • Made it to the International conference 2 years in a row.
    • Placed 2nd place in the world.
    • Received the Project Management Award.
    • Raised support to help get the New Jersey Freedom to Read Act passed, and successfully got it passed.
    • Educated students and the community about financial literacy concepts free of charge.
  • Enrolled in the highest classes offered (all subjects)
  • Teachers have stated that I have consistently submitted high quality work as well as being responsible and going above and beyond.

Extra Curricular Activities

  • Student Council (Held Secretary Position)
  • Selected to represent the school at an international competition (1 of 20 in the school)
  • Helped rising 6th grade students ease the transition into middle school.
  • Helped to plan dances and other activities at/around the school.
  • Have been studying Tamil at a weekend program for 5 years
    • Have taught younger levels about the language.
    • I have taken the beginner and intermediate levels of the Tamil Virtual University Exams (run by the government of India).

Sports

  • Have been playing water polo for around 3 years
    • Played at the Junior Olympics in California
      • Scored 1 goal
      • Got at least 10 steals
  • Have been playing cricket for around 1 year.
    • Captain for all seasons
      • My team was the first team in my Academy’s history to go to the quarter finals.

Music

  • I have been playing Tabla for around 8 years.
    • I performed at the World Culture Festival.
    • I have had numerous solo performances.
    • I have performed with a group for numerous performances.
    • Only Tabla player in the school and only 1 of 2 in the district.
  • I have been in Choir for over 5 years
    • I am a Bass but can sing tenor part as well

Would anyone have any other recommendations on what I can do to improve my chances of getting into Lawrenceville, if so, I would be open to suggestions. I am planning to join the Youth Civil Air Patrol as well as trying out for my school’s Future City team. Thanks in advanced!

Thank you so much! Update: I made my school’s Future City Team, and will be on the team. I will also be competing in Beast of the East, a water polo travel tournament in Orlando. Lastly, my cricket team made the finals (I was vice captain) and we will be playing this Sunday for the trophy. Wish us luck!
