<p>Hello! I am a Nevada resident who is interested in applying to Penn State (University Park campus) and majoring in informatics/information sciences. I am a senior in a magnet program at my school.</p>

<p>Here’s a sample resume of me. Please chance me! :
unweighted GPA: 3.719
weighted GPA: 4.519
SAT score: 1850 (reading 590, math 690, and writing 570)
AP classes and scores: world history (did not receive score…), lang & comp (4), us history (5), biology (did not take)
I am taking AP calculus ab, statistics, psychology, us gov & politics, and lit & comp this year.</p>

<p>extra curricular activities:
NJROTC (4 years, with many leadership position; also in drill and academic team)
bible club (4 years)
school orchestra (4 years)
key club (2 years)
health occupations students of america (2 years)
future educators of america (1 year)
girls’ golf team (1 year)</p>

<p>Do I put these on my resume?:
I am also very active within my church; I help out for programs and other events that they hold.
Tutors brother and cousins.
Self-taught piano.
Speaks a foreign language at home.
Attended a leadership academy for a week through NJROTC.</p>

<p>I’m also considering doing ROTC to pay for college…</p>

<p>Your stats look great, apply early.</p>

<p>I agree with slipjig - your stats look good for University Park. They mainly look at your gpa and sat score, but I would put everything on the application. Definately apply early, it helps lessen senior year stress having an acceptance in hand. Good luck!</p>

<p>right now i’m having a hard time writing my personal statement. do they look into the personal statement a lot?</p>

<p>also, i’m wondering if being a minority helps. i heard that its hard for asians to get into colleges because they have to compete with other asians to get into the college for the minority pool. is this true?</p>
