I am applying to Loomis Chaffee, Choate and Taft (as a ninth grader with FA).

Awards: I am on my school’s High Honor roll and I received the President’s Education Award, the Superintendent’s Award (only given to one female per school), the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award, Student of the Trimester Award, Honorable Mention in Poetry from the Connecticut Student Writers magazine. I am a People to People Leadership Foundation student ambassador. I attended a Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth summer course.

Sports: I have been cheerleading for seven years. I am the co-captain of my town’s Youth Cheerleading Squad, and we advanced to the New England Regional Cheer Championships.

Extracurriculars: I am the Vice President of the Winding Brook 4-H Club. I’m a member of my school’s Backstage Crew for the Drama Club. I play advanced piano, and I write/screenwrite with my spare time.

Community Service: I am a member of my school’s Students and Seniors club, and I co-founded a townwide organization of aluminum pull-tabs to benifit the Shriners hospital.

Please chance me and provide any additional information about these schools. Thanks I really appreciate it!

UrbanFlop, I received my SSAT scores today. The results are as following:
Verbal- 718 (84%)
Math- 689 (62%)
Reading- 722 (93%)
Total- 2127 (83%)

Um…well…for me…I immediately thought “you’ve been cheerleading since 1st/2nd grade?” and kind of wondered what you could have possibly been cheering for/at so maybe admissions would also likely want to discuss that.

Cheerleading starts really early though. Like my school holds cheerleading camps for kids in like the 1st and 2nd grades and there are cheerleading programs for little kids all over my town. All sports start early really.

Okay, thanks so much! Do you think that my Math score will affect my chances? I know it is very low, but I am applying for FA and we don’t have the money to retake it…
