Please ease my concious

i keep trying to give myself a confidence boost, but i just dont feel good enough about my stats

ethnicity: Asian
GPA: 3.7 we dont have weights
we dont have class ranks
ACT:30
SAT:Reading: 640, Math 630, writing 590. all together is 1860
i have taken 3 AP classes: AP computer science (didnt take test), AP chem 2, AP U.S history 4
Currently taking 3 more ap classes: AP Bio, AP U.S. Government and Politics, and AP Calculus

Also taking Chinese 101, its an experimental Dual Enrollment program where the local college (Wright State University) sends a teacher over to teach us Chinese in an accelerated course redesigned for HS students

im planning on being a premed student, but i feel bad that my chem scores were low, i enjoy taking biology though, and plan to major in it. I had decided to take the least of my favorite science courses, Chem, first in my junior year, so i can get an “easier” time during my senior year. Im fairly well i can finish my senior strong, but i just wanna your thoughts on my chances

I would say in, high GPA and high ACTs along with bring a minority I would be close to say almost 100%.

Your ACT places you at the minimum for their honors program, and your GPA is fine. I don’t think you need to be anxious in the least.

thank you, that’s a load off my chest, but what about my scholarship possiblities?

[The Ohio State University](http://undergrad.osu.edu/merit.html)

It seems like you qualify for both the Provost (29 ACT minimum) for $2,100 per year, and the Trustees (27 ACT minimum) for $1,050 per year. They can’t be combined, so shoot for the Provost. OSU also offers need-based aid, so you may want to submit a FAFSA.

Since you are Asian, also be sure to apply for the Morrill Scholarship

[OSU Office of Minority Affairs | Morrill Scholars Program](http://oma.osu.edu/future-students/morrill-scholars-program/morrill-scholars-program.php)

This requires a separate application, with recommendations and essays, but the minimum amount is full tuition and I think they award about 450? of these.

thank you for the quick response, i feel much better about my self now

I wouldn’t worry about your stats; they’re fine. Anyways, you can’t change them much at this point, so do your best on your essays. Always get someone else to proofread/edit them.

question: for the provost scholarship, one of the criterion was that i have a combined CR+M Sat score of 1300, well i only have a 1270, do u think they would be leniant and round up? i had a 30 on the ACT so maybe…?

According to the brochure that was circulated regarding Merit Scholarships for 2009, you would be eligible for the Provost Scholarship with a minimum SAT score of 1300 OR a minimum ACT composite score of 29, therefore, your 30 ACT score should qualify you. You must apply for admission by Dec. 1st.

Your ACT 30 is fine for it.
