<p>There’s plenty of dubious untoward sleazy bizzaro behavior in authoritarian/totalitarian regimes…including Mainland China. Only difference is it’s much more easy to hide due to greater government control over the society and the mass media. </p>

<p>You’d be surprised at the length totalitarian/authoritarian regimes will go to protect sleazy corrupt leaders/officials who are their favorites of the moment. Hermann Goering, Leonid Brezhnev’s family, and those are two well-known examples. </p>

I think we are all desensitized by sleaze and violence in the media. He’s not much different from many politicians on a selfish, egoistic power trip and his family has suffered for it.</p>
