Prompt: Is our world changing for the better?

Humans hold a natural emotional tendency against change. Whether this tendency should be considered remains an important question. Although many people may not like it, change in the world promotes the well-being of all humans.
The easiest identification of change exists when observing technology and information. Rapid changes in these fields have spawned new media and economic giants like Facebook and Google. Facebook, in its simplest definition, aims to help people communicate with each other. What is communication? The transfer of ideas and messages defines communication; this transfer is not just an interpersonal transaction regarding family news or gossip, but holds important business, media, and news ties as well. Creations like Facebook not only help two mundane humans communicate with one another, but also strengthen the economic portions of society by providing safer, faster means of exchanging ideas.
Information exchange does not stand as the sole beneficiary of the change in the world. People benefit financially from the growth of technology. New technology spawns new products which must be manufactured and maintained. Humans must occupy the positions to complete such tasks, leading to job openings. I am uncertain of what my career details will entail since I am likely to have a career that does not exist yet. New job openings allow for the zoning out of more tedious jobs and promote education around the world. Calling a Burger King representative from the United States likely ends in a conversation with an Indian citizen. Technology opens the doors for people in traditionally poor and crowded nations like China and India to receive personal training and improved emoluments. More individuals find the ability to reach their personal goals as well. Heading back to the Facebook discussion, Mark Zuckerberg made something of himself that would have been nearly impossible twenty years ago. Even the man who designed the art for Facebook realized his dream. After taking an extremely small share of the company instead of a concrete payment, he is entitled to millions of dollars if he chooses to sell the stock. On Youtube, artists and directors who normally would not receive a chance are able to make potentially large profits through utilizing the free service. Personal potential explodes when the world changes as it has recently.
Though people may reject change, they cannot avoid it. Change engulfs every era and keeps humanity moving in the right direction. Through all of the world’s recent developments, change proves to be a benefit.
