<p>Since the dawn of time, many people have failed to substantiate certain ideas due to their fear of challenging people in authority.Few examples, however, have succeeded in challenging authority and have,as a result, achieved great success.Three of many examples are “Rosa parks”,“Gallileo Gallili”,and"louis pasteur"</p>

<pre><code> One prominent historical character is the female activist Rosa parks.Parks played a critical role in ending bus segregation by galvanizing African Americans into boycotting montogomerian busses.Although in the late 1900s American laws adopted segregation for African Americans as a permenant status,Parks was the first to say “NO” to the bus driver when he recommended her give her seat for a white man.Being the first to challenge authority,Parks was able to end bus segregation in Montogomery.parks succesfull attempt to end segregation shows how challenging people in authority could be efficacous.

Similarly ,but in a more scientefic level,is the prominent scientist Gallileo Gallili.Though, during his time, the Catholic Church adopted the theory of ptolemy, which placed the earth at the center of the universe,Gallileo, after devising his telescope in 1609,refused to budge to their idea .Believing that the sun was the orbit which was placed in the center of the universe,Gallileo challenged the theory held by the Church.Although he didnt recieve much credit at his time, today his theory was proven to be true.Had he not challenged the authority, wouldnt have he advanced our understanding of science.

Another prominent scientist is louis pasteur.During his time, most scientists advocated the theory of "spontaneous generation",which stated that bacteria was spontaneously generated. After conducting experiments which proved that bacterium were generated from other particles, pasteur introduced "Germ theory".Although his theory was debunked,he persisted and conducted his experiments in public to prove

<p>that his theory was true.Only by challenging the common view held by people in authority was he able to substantiate his theory.</p>

<pre><code> After careful analysis of Parks,Gallileo, and Pasteur, one can see that challenging authority is,indeed,a sure route to success. If each of them hadn’t challenged the view held by society,he/she wouldnt have ashieved his/her goals.

<p>Sometimes it is necessary to challenge what people in authority claim to be true. Although some respect for authority is, no doubt, necessary in order for any group or organization to function, questioning the people in charge–even if they are experts or leaders int heir fields–makes us better thinkers. It forces all concerned to defend old ideas and decisions and to consider new ones. Sometimes it can even correct old errors in thought and put an end to wrong actions. </p>
