please help a junior. (not chances)

so heres some background:
junior at tough school
3.6w, 3.4uw (upward trend)
top 30%
30 act
hardest coursload possible
good recs and essays
decent ec’s (voluneering, robotics captain, marching band, tennis)

What would raise my chances more, raising my act by one point or getting a 5 on the ap physics c exam before taking the course (am in honors physics 2/3 now)?

Also this summer i am doing a paid internship doing research bassicly on my own with nasa on astrophysics. at the end of the summer i will have a published research paper. How much will this help me with admissions chances? right now i want to go to wisconsin, michigan, case western, or rochester. do you think if i do that research do i have a chance at harder to get into schools, like vanderbilt, georgetown, washu, northwestern, stanford, unc(OOS) or emory?

thanks for the help, and i you have any school recomendations please share.

I’d focus on your grades first and foremost. I don’t think colleges care as much about an AP Test than they would a standardized test. You may want to try the SAT.

thanks, can anyone answer my second question?

depends on how you present it and relate it to you and your passions etc

Colleges generally don’t consider AP scores for admission. They are used to give credit for classes after admission.

thanks bump

research always helps =) I have 550+hours of research (for two projects) with graduate students, and I like to think it helped me get into a lot of schools. I’m still waiting to hear back from some of my schools, but I’ve been accepted to 7/13 so far.

I know you cant do much about this now, but i think you should try your hardest at raising that gpa.
