Please Help A Mom!

After reading through posts here and reading a few things online, I decided we would probably look at HP or Toshiba. My daughter and I went to Best Buy so we could actually see the computers (get the feel for keyboards, screen size, etc.). They had an HP pavilion 6448se (it’s white :)) that my daughter likes and it had pretty much everything–I think–that it should have to function well. Did I mention that it’s white? LOL.

Seriously, I came home and tried to find it on the HP website but I could only find the 6500. I’m wondering if this is an old model or something that’s only sold in retail stores. Maybe it’s discontinued?

Well, even though it’s pretty, I don’t want to buy it if it’s not a good computer. Does anyone have any info on this?

Looks like it’s no longer being sold by HP, though they still have the above site for user support.

it sucks…

I will see what I can find but on a side not I’d would suggest to go in for Apple Powerbook! Its a wonderful piece of machine! And its white too! ;)

it seems fine (spec-wise). HP as a notebook brand is good in general. and if you/your daughter doesn’t like it, you can return it, right…?

buy from costco, you have a very generous return time for computers, no questions asked. It may have been dropped down to a slightly shorter period due to abuse, not sure, so people who are interested can go check it out themselves. But no question, long return times, cheap prices = win win. They have a good selection online.

DO NOT EVER buy from Be$t Buy. They’ll give you a sales pitch for a service plan, but when it comes time to make good on it, they won’t. I heard good things about Costco though.
