I am an IB student and generally do well at school, I am unsure of why my results are so low. As I mentioned before I am entering my last year of high school and school starts on August 11th. How high can I get my results by August 11th and is September a good time to take another test so i can start applications to enter college in fall of 2011? Please tell me if anybody knows any good strategies, programs, etc. to bring this score up.

Also when i take practice tests i generally just go back and read the ones i got wrong. Is that sufficient?

You have a lot of time to increase your scores. What are you aiming for?

For the questions you got wrong, was it because you honestly didn’t know the answer or didn’t know how to do it? If so, then get a general ACT book that goes over the test and the material it covers, like Princeton Review or Kaplan.

Did you get answers wrong because of careless mistakes or running out of time? Did you go over the question and realize you knew the right answer? If so, you need a lot of practice. I suggest the Princeton Review 1,296 ACT Practice Questions book. It has a full length practice test, 3 practice tests by section (3 English, then 3 math, etc), and 2 more full-length tests. It’s a really good book to drill yourself in your weak subjects and get more familiar with the test.

Study the strategies associated with the ACT. Also try the SAT too to see if you can score higher on that.

my main main issue is time, and i guess im not a good standardized test taker. im running out of time for the the science, math, and passage comp. i dont know what to do. im taking tests, but im not changing anything, im just reviewing answers but still running out of time and stuff

I almost ran out of time on the ACT on the reading and science sections. The science section I got lucky because I knew the chemistry and physics concepts so I could move a bit faster. Just familiarize yourself with the content.
