Please Help. Advice regarding admission preferences for standardized testing submiss.

(Note: I know my standardized tests scores aren’t good but I have positive attributes in many other areas and am aiming for some very selective schools; Stanford, Columbia…)

Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to take the ACT during November as I had planned and therefore had to take it during December.

As many of you may know, the ACT corp is being particularly awful and slow about releasing the scores for December’s test. I called them up and found that additional scores will not be released until after the application deadline for most of my schools (they release on jan 5 - my application deadline is jan 1).

I was hoping to be able to choose between submitting the higher of my ACTs or SATs to submit but clearly I cannot do as I had planned. So now, I have a decision to make. Because common app requires that you report your numbers and your testing dates for the tests you want your schools to consider, i have to decide whether to only report my SAT or to report my SAT along with my ACT (blind).

The factors:

  1. my SAT superscore is 2130 which is OKAY but… well… its superscored
    1st:
    CR: 740
    MATH: 670
    WRITING: 630
    2nd:
    CR: 710
    MATH: 630
    WRITING: 720

When I did ACT practice tests I tended to get an overall better score than from the SAT (around the range of 31 to 33.5) but obviously i don’t know for sure since i have never taken a real ACT test

To be honest, I’m pretty sure my ACT composite will be the same or better than my SAT score but i am concerned about the science section which I am not great at. I was planning on looking at my science scores and if they were average (31/32), submitting them anyway for the overall higher composite. But if they were bad (below 30) I would just not submit the ACTs at all. This is because I take a very science oriented course load and have very high marks in both biology and chemistry. I am concerned that a low science score in the ACT will undercut these high grades.

I’m very uncertain about what to do. Can anybody give me some advice?

*Note: Something to clarify - is it really bad if I don’t input the dates or mention the ACTs in my common app but if after I receive the scores I decide that I do want to send them to my universities?

bump?..
