Please help. Can I be auto-rejected by Admissions?

So I am a domestic student, currently studying at the US community college. I have also studied for 3 years at my native country’s college and then dropped out(six years ago). I am transferring now to other colleges from my CC. I’ve just mentioned that I didn’t report any change in progression in my education history Common App section.

I didn’t write that I earned any degree from my native country’s college because I hadn’t, and I wrote in my main CommonApp essay that I dropped out of it. I am very concerned that I might be auto-rejected because Admissions officers would think that I already have a degree from my native country’s college. Some of the colleges I’m applying to automatically reject people who already have a degree. I’m afraid that they would auto-reject me assuming that I already have a degree before they even get to essay part. Is it possible? Or they have to review the whole application and only then make a decision? I’m very worried about it.

You are obligated to provide an official copy of your transcript from your first college, and that will clearly show that you didn’t complete your degree there. So there is no reason to think that any admission committee would be confused about this issue.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I did provide the copy of my transcript. It says “order of dismissal was issued on”, but its written in the end and with a very small font. It doesn’t say anywhere on the transcript that I didn’t get a degree. I’m afraid that it doesn’t “clearly” show that I didn’t complete my degree.

Don’t worry about that. If you had earned a degree, the information would be right on the transcript, you would have a diploma from your college, and you would be applying to grad school instead of transferring.

Thank you!
