Please help find a college match.

•I’m going to be starting my senior year of high school this fall and will be applying ED to Gonzaga University and Montana State University. I need some help looking for good colleges OUT of Washington. No California please…

•I have a 3.79 GPA - Unweighted

•1280 on the SAT

•I’m involved in NHS, High school Equestrian team, math club, and yearbook.

•I go to a very small school in eastern Washington, and it doesn’t offer any AP classes, although I am a year ahead in Math.

• I plan to go to medical school and hopefully become a surgeon, although English is really my strong suit.

So PLEASE… any recommendations would be great (even if it’s a slight long shot). Hopefully leaning towards a higher end college, but I obviously can’t get into Ivy.

THANKS!

How far are you willing to go for college? Would you consider the east coast or do you want to stay fairly close?

I’m willing to go to the east coast.

Denison, Dickinson, St. Lawrence, Skidmore, Trinity (Conn), Wheaton (Mass), Connecticut College, maybe Bates. Some of these schools would be reaches, however.

Northwestern, UNC, BU, Syracuse, Temple, Rutgers

This analysis can help you statistically compare colleges you are just learning about to colleges with which you might be more familiar:

For example, if you think Gonzaga (#214) might be an admission match for you, you can consider other colleges in that range – or explore further up for an admission reach. Schools that might be safeties for you, as well as those that might be out-of-reach, should also be apparent.

Btw, I think you mean EA, not ED, in your original post.

Smith college and mount holyoke are both great schools with equestrian programs that are test optional

Earlham has stables as well.
