So I really want to go to WVU more than anything, but I’m a CA resident and WVU is a little expensive for me since I’m gonna be OOS but, I was thinking that maybe I could go to SBCC for a year or two then transfer to WVU. I need advice on what the best option for me is, is this considered a good option? I just want to go to WVU eventually somehow.
If you will have to be full-pay at WVU, then it makes perfect sense to start at SBCC and transfer. Just make certain to read through the transfer information at the WVU website so that you choose the SBCC classes that are likely to make for a smooth transition.
SBCC will leave you set up for UCSB and if you are a CA resident you can get grants from CA and CA uni’s. At WVU are you going to be saving up to pay for those 2 years as a full payer? not likely. You won’t get aid from them You will get any Pell you are eligible for up to 5500 plus a loan for 7500 per year. That won’t cover much. Haven’t we been around this already with you? Transfers to OOS unis won’t get any aid from the college.
