EDIT: communicating information

Business. 10char

Marketing management/business seems to fit all of your interests.

operations management? supply chain management?

@rcoll90 - Could you tell me more about Operations Management? Does it JUST deal with manufacturing operations?

I think it’s way too early to “decide” on a concentration within business. Knowing that you want to do business is pretty specific already, and you won’t really get a feel for any of the subfields until after taking a few classes in college.

You’re lucky you like all of that stuff because a lot of people hate it. Go into one of the softer sides of business (management, marketing, etc.). Some of us in econ/finance/acc/CIS programs who want to be locked in a private office on the 100th floor will appreciate your eagerness to deal with those pesky humans.

Like terenc said though (and IMO one of the great strengths of a business major), all of the lower division fundamentals will be the same regardless of your concentration so you can taste it all in college before committing to one.

Advertising, marketing, maybe public relations.

no. ops management deals with the production of both goods AND services. it is the study and management of all the inputs that create the output of a company- goods, financial products, medical care, education, etc. the field includes supply chain, quality, inventory, forecasting, human resources, and workplace layout. the field uses IT and mathmatetical formulas to identify efficient business processes.
