Please help me find a SAT cram school in the New York Metro area

Hello.
Let me introduce myself.
I am a sophomore.
I am looking for a SAT cram school in the New York Metropolitan area, that will increase my scores the most with the least money required (aka tuition)
In terms of money, anywhere from $0-2000 a month (a little over is fine too)
I’m pretty sure I’m going to prepatory classes because I’ve learned I am more consistent in terms of work habits.
I want to obtain at least a 2300 on the SAT.
Right now on my last practice test I obtained a 2010.
Every so often, my scores improve in 100 pt increments because of continual preparation.
Right now I would say I’m at ~2200: 680 CR, 700ish W, 740 Math
I could theoretically do this “on my own”, but I’m planning on doing other things besides SAT prep this summer (i.e. lab internship, NYLF, London plans, teaching my brother study skills, studying for USABO, studying for Chem SAT)
I am only looking for cram schools that not only teach material on the SAT, but thoroughly review the answers critically.
I also need the cram school to have a program for the Writing section as well that encompasses not only grammar, but also essay writing help.
For my essays, my essay graders (all certified high school teachers) have rated them on average btwn a 5-6. I’m pretty sure the only reason I would have a 5 is the number of grammar mistakes and other little errors that give away a weak command of English.
Please do not misunderstand.
I was born and raised in America.
I speak English

So far I have looked into:
**C2/B: I took their diagnostic test. I recieved ~1800. They just consolidated all the tricky questions from all the real SAT tests they could get their hands on. They teach only the hard concepts. Two of my older friends (Class of '08) attended there. Their scores at the school were ~1700 each and on the actual test they performed ~2390 each (they’re twins :])

Kent Institute (formerly known as Bayside Academy/Rira): I don’t know much about this place. Anyone?

**Olympiad Academia/B: I’ve gone here for Bio. If you’re interested check out Mr. Sabek’s classes. He’s an awesome teacher. I’ve heard great things about this place. It is highly recommended by my friend from school.

**Mega Academy/B: I have no idea where this is. Anyone know? Neither do I know about how well they teach. Among the education circles of Stuy, they say Mega goes through review books/course material very thoroughly. Before the exam students go through the material about 3x in excessive detail.

**CTY Master/B: The school where all the chinese kiddies who wanted money for gaining admission into Hunter went to. Apparently they teach you math for 12th grade in their Hunter prep classes. I don’t know anything about their SAT prep course.

**Elite Academy/B I went here last year. Mrs. Caroline Kim formerly a Bronx Science teacher taught writing here. It was GREAT! She was wonderful. So is the math teacher here named Ms. Doreen ______ the Calc teacher at Forest Hills, but she taught the “easier” math course. Unless these teachers are there, I have less than no interest in going to Elite ever again. It is very repetative. I’ve had this one teacher there who now works at my school who didn’t go over any explanations to the questions. She recited answers and consistently picked the same people. That class was SO helpful. not. I ended up transferring out to another class with harder math material, but a not so great math teacher.

**Ivy Academia (formerly known as Honors Review)/B She’s pretty arrogant toward other children who aren’t her own. Although I have less than no information on this school, I don’t plan on going here, or else my family will be stigmatized for life.

**Ivy Prep/B My friend Terry goes here. She’s gone here every summer. I’m not sure how useful one summer will be though. She gets high scores. She got like a 220 or something like that on her PSAT w/o any other prep besides this school over the summer. I don’t know anything about this school’s SAT program.

Any others I should check out?
Or any contrasting opinions to what I said above?

i basically have the same problem as the OP. I wanna study over the summer for the SAT. I am currently a soph.

I have heard of Kent and Elite but that is about. Tons of kids from my school go there, obviously they are mostly korean:).

I knowKent has a summer program like everyday for 4 hours . I might be doin that over this summer , so maybe i will see you there?

could you give an address or website for that “C2” place?

I’m not going to one. I’m going to study from CB books, the online course, and grammatix. I think this best fits my current schedule.

Mega academy is in flushing.

this kid from my school went to elite and got a perfect score. ever since then, all my friends have flocked there.

Here is C2’s website:

[C2: About C2](http://www.c2educate.com/page/aboutc2)

I just got ■■■■■■■ by an accidentally ■■■■■■■■ necro

I would suggest asking the korean students at your school. Not trying to be bias, it’s just that cram schools are EXTREMELY common in korea and I’m guessing if they haven’t been immersed in that, their parents have done it for them.

C2 sounds good from what you’ve said. I’ve heard of the cram school IvyPrep and Elite, though I’ve heard Elite is just so-so and Ivy Prep really demands a lot from you(but in return, it teaches a lot to you if you listen) Though this cram school might be entirely different from the ones I’ve heard of since people tend to attach similar names (I mean, you’ve even found Ivy Academia which I think is a ripoff, trying to attract people by the brand name of ivy prep, which i’m pretty sure i’ve heard of is good) my $.02

I also have the same problem. I’m either going to C2 or Elite, but I think i’m going to choose C2 because my cousin’s a teacher there, so I can get a 10% discount
Haha

I went to Mega and Elite for some time. I stopped going around 2 years ago.

These cram schools won’t help you too much with your SAT prep. My recommendation is to study on your own and perhaps take mock SATs at these locations. there’s just not enough individualized attention attending these places
