Hello im a rising senior!
I’m new so I’m not sure how to format this but I’ll try
Interest: law
School: very small private Quaker school (35 student in the entire highschool grades 9-12)
SAT: 1540 (missing an entire math section because I was very nervous and forgot to transfer answers. Hired tutor and will be retaking this October. This was also the SAT where a section was not scored because the test was distributed wrong)
ACT: will be taking in fall this year
GPA: (unweighted)
Freshman: ~2.85 (very rough I know)
Sophomore: 4.0 (big jump, I was definitely not meant to be in public school)
Junior:~3.9
Planning to maintain 3.9 or higher to increase GPA senior year
AP: took apush by reading only a study guide (no guidance because of small school size) received a 3// AP environmental (did not test but received A in class) // AP human geography and AP level calculus will be taken this year (I have taken every single AP my school has offered excluding AP physics because I would not do well) so I’m trying to make do with what little I have
College courses at well known communtiy college: Intro to criminal justice; received A
Will be taking a 4 credit bio course with lab at college this year and another class to be determined in spring semester to make up for lack of AP
EC: 2 years sitting on local court jury for minors (this is what made me interested in law) total: 70 hours of my time
SGA was started last year at my school I am the president
Yearbook club 2 years
200+ community service hours
Awards:
Published work in the huffington post (you can google huffington if you are not familiar)
Received award from known literary magazine for the work
Senior course load: AP human geo, AP level calculus, English 12, college bio class, public speaking elective, marketing elective, college class in spring (ideally focusing on course pertinent to law)
Essays: still developing, I am a strong writer and I hope to make up for my failure to buckle down as an underclass man through a good topic and execution
Hook: minority Asian female, adopted (does that count probably not)
My goals for my SAT are at least a 2000 and at least a 30 on the SAT. I am not a good test taker but I have studied very hard for both
