Hi! I’ve been planning on majoring in musical performance, but I am thinking about maybe changing my decision. I would like to know before that, though, what kinds of schools I can get accepted to with my transcript and extra info. Here are some schools I was thinking about, as well as my info. My grade suffered because I’ve been focusing so much on my music.

Special Situation: My mom underwent a huge surgery fall of my junior year, which caused her to be put on heavy pain medicine for 6 months. During that time, I had to take care of her and myself. This forced me to mature a lot, which is the cause of my improved grades from sophomore year.

President- Mission: Music Club that I started at my school. It raises money for music programs in need at schools that can’t afford to improve them.

Your potential major is going to be what determines what schools you apply to, so we can’t help you until you’re really dead-set on a major. The schools you listed aren’t particularly known for their music programs, so why would you apply to schools that are so competitive if you could apply to some other, more musically-oriented schools (and possibly have more of a chance, since music and not grades are your strong suit)?

Also, you should specify what exactly you’re looking for in a school. Size, location, political leanings, etc. All this will play into which school you eventually attend and are happy at.
