Please help me prepare for my future college transfer!

I got rejected by my top choices (MIT, UC Berkeley, and Bowdoin). But, I’m still interested in attending them in the future.

I realize that I am not a good fit now, but I would like to hear suggestions on what I can do to help that.

What I am planning on doing:

  • Attend the speed school at UofL
  • Take as close of a schedule as possible as students at MIT, UC Berkeley, etc
  • Join the Engineering LGBT+ club at UofL, and gaining some type of leadership position
  • Create a non-profit that focuses on STEM education to LGBT individuals in the Louisville area.
  • Create some type of project that is related to my major (Engineering undecided, with minor in CS)

What else do you think would help out?

Those are good initiatives, but you should prepare for the fact that MIT and Bowdoin have transfer acceptance rates of below 5%. If you don’t mind attending U of L, it might also help to transfer into your junior year so that colleges weigh your high school statistics less heavily.
