Please Help! Scared high school student.

i go to a very rigorous academic high school. its ranked about 26 in the U.S.
my grades aren’t really that great. As a sophomore beginning my second semester,
my gpa is:

Academic GPA:
Weighted:4.05
Non-Weighted:3.41
Total GPA:
Weighted:4.04
Non-Weighted: 3.49
10-12 GPA(its only been one semester though):
Weighted: 3.85
Non-Weighted: 3.08

I am in Indian Culture Club, Key Club, FBLA, Mock Trial, Environmental Club, and P.A.R.T.Y. Club. I am on board of Indian Culture Club and Mock Trial. I participate in Track and Field. I will probably end up with about 300-350 community service hours.

One reason why my 10-12 GPA is so low, is because of a C+ in Pre-Calc Honors. I dropped levels so I’m in Pre-calc regular now. The C+ is not weighted so it literally counts as a C+.

I want to get my MBA/MD from colleges that have programs for that, such as UCLA, USC, Northwestern, Boston University, and UC Berkeley. Do you think I have a shot at these schools and schools of this caliber? Please Help!

First, take a big breath and calm down. You are only a first semester 10th grader! Second, consider dropping an EC or two so that you have more time to study. Focus on the ECs that are important to you and skip the rest.
Have you taken the PSAT? How did you do on that?
I don’t know much, but I think you would have a shot at BU (it’s the only one I know anything about)

Umm…and you realize that you need a four year degree (BA or BS) before you apply for an MBA or MD or MBA/MD?

Thanks nemom. anyone else wanna help?

is a 3.599 a bad gpa? just curious.

Take a standardized test and then come back. It is impossible to chance based on grades alone.

Also come chance me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635063-small-town-junior-looking-advice-chances-big-name-schools.html</a> thanks!

well i got about a 191 on the PSAT with no studying at all.

would anyone else like to help me out? i’m really freaking out…

if it helps any, i’m in all honors, except precalc now. i’m in one AP now, 4 APs junior year, and about 5 senior year. I’m also planning on going full IB.

You will probably be just fine. As I said, you will need a BA or BS before you apply to med school, so don’t worry so much about that just yet. Given your stats, you will be able to get into a fine school. Study a bit more for the PSAT/SAT.
