Please Help. Very Tensed

Hello all!

/// I’m posting this for the second time as I’m very tensed with the college application process and I didn’t get any response in the first time. ///

Graduating in 2019

CGPA: 10/10 ( tenth grade)

Percentage: 70-80% ( very competitive with class average in the bottom 50s, 15th rank out of 85 students)

AP Chemistry:4

ACT- 31 Composite

Haven’t taken the Subject SAT yet but planning to take it soon. Pretty confident of scoring above 750 in Math II and Physics.

Extra Curriculars: Cricket team Captain, basketball and football team player, dance team, math club, debate club, quiz club.
National level writer.

Confident of getting good Recommendation letters and predicted scores

What are my chances for the following with a good scholarship.

Stevens Tech
Santa Clara
UMass, Amherst
University of Washington, Seattle
Ohio State University
UC Irvine.

/// These are my safeties. I’ll cut down on a few colleges too. Just want to know the perfect fit. ///

Would appreciate all the inputs.
Thanks in advance!

OP, I admit to being confused. You say you’re graduating in the spring, but your GPA is from 10th grade.

You say nothing about finances, location or major.

You mention the “Perfect fit.” In my experience, that magical perfect fit has a lot to do with campus atmosphere, beyond grades.

I can only say that I have not heard Stevens to be generous with merit scholarships but a bit better with need based aid. Also heard since U Mass Amherst is a state school and COA is lower they do not give much money either.

If you are a not a California resident then UC Irvine will be full pay at $65K/year to attend and their merit aid (scholarships) are few and not likely. ACT composite score within range but depending upon intended major, it could be on the low side. The largest merit award at UCI is the Regents scholarship at $2500 a year.

If you are a CA resident, your stats are within range but not likely to garner merit scholarships but if eligible, need based aid such as Cal Grants and Blue and Gold opportunity aid would be available.

Have you run the Net Price Calculators for all schools to see their cost estimates?

I’m not sure how some of these schools are safeties as you can’t be instate for more than one. If you are out of state, generally the state flagships are not great for merit scholarships.

Closing thread. This is the OP’s second account, which is a violation of ToS. The OP can post under the original account.
