Please help! Very worried student!

I am a junior in high school

3.47 gpa unweighted…i did get a D soph year in chemistry…not my strong side but most of my other grades are As and Bs, especially in AP and GT (gifted and talented) classes
^ i am terrified that this grade will destroy me and ultimately ruin my chances of getting into my top colleges
Taking all available APs besides foreign languages

Key Club freshman-junior year
SADD vice president

Lots of community service ( over 400 hours and counting)
Active in volunteering in my community
Enrolled in a magnet multimedia program in my school that required special admission in order to be accepted into
Impressively computer-savvy
1910 SAT first try
Capable of impressive letters of recommendation
Possible internship at a large scale computer company
Volunteer at an elementary school for peer helping and teachers assistant
CIT (counselor in training) for 7 weeks at an overnight camp
Part time job at a gym (greeting, swiping gym cards, washing towels… mostly for extra money but still a good experience of working for a paycheck and learning the values of a workplace)

I am interested in pursuing my multimedia career. I am very good at it and very creative and excellent with computers. I want to major in multimedia studies, graphic design and computer engineering…I am in love with VT and everything that it has to offer me, does anyone think I have a shot? I know I’m not the best candidate, especially because I am out of state (MD)

Hopefully you have a portfolio or some works to submit. Would help a lot if you’re applying for multimedia major.

By the way, Invisible Children is not raising awareness for children who have been kidnapped into Joseph Koney’s army. There has peen peace in Uganda for like 10 years. The organization originally took that direction and got in a lot of trouble for stretching the truth. If you’ve actually been participating, you’d know that they now are raising money to rebuild/expand schools in Uganda.

the one at my school is for that…we watched a huge video and all so idk [Invisible Children - About Us](<a href=“About | Invisible Children”>About | Invisible Children) is what i am talking about so maybe our thoughts are different …anyways i do have a strong portfolio that i am working on with the help of my teacher

“We seek to rebuild schools, educate future leaders, and provide jobs.”

Ask anyone who has been to Uganda in the past 10 years. I’ve talked to them. Invisible Children came to my school with two Ugandans to make a presentation and I called them out on it. They publicly admitted that the “child soldier” thing is not really an issue anymore. However, they emphasize it to evoke sympathy and recruit more donations. You’re just like everyone else who has been misled.

ok no need to be defensive i believe you. sorry, i guess, for being misled that is not my fault but that was not part of the main question i was asking…
