please help with crazy admission question

I have a small problem at hand and was wondering if anyone could shed some light. I attended a technical school (UTI) and 6 months into the program my mother got very sick and I decided to take a break from school and work so I could take care of her. My mother passed away and I didn’t go back to school. I was charged $3000 for rephase fees for taking up a spot on the attendance sheet and not showing. I didn’t let the school know to be honest so I understand its my own fault. My question is that I am now applying to a local CC and UTI will not release my transcript due to the owed money but Can I Omit Going To UTI so I can start CC this fall?

No. You need to pay that bill to UTI so your transcript can be released. Then you can apply to the CC.

BUT, you can also beg for mercy, which is what I would try before I paid the $3000. Call and find out who you need to talk to and make an appointment. Most people are compassionate and they may have he power to either wipe out the debt or reduce it. It is pretty tough to be a teenager taking care of a sick parent. Should you have withdrawn? Sure, but we all make mistakes. Sorry that you had to go through losing your mom.
