Please Help With Governors Academy entrance essay

The prompt given is: what would your perfect day be?
I am a bit confused as to what they are asking me to write. So if you could please help?
I am not asking you to write the essay for me, I just need a bit of ideas to get me started. Some things about me: I play 1st chair viola, I take french, I play hockey and lacrosse as a goalie both for varsity teams, and my strongest subject in school is math. I also volunteer at a local hockey rink and library.(Those things are all mentioned in my application). Thanks a ton.

Just write about the things you like to do, and write about something that shows off your skills.

I agree with the PP, write about something you love. If it were my daughter, she would probably write about school (one of her ABC essays was “What is your favorite place?” and she wrote about her school), Disneyland or reading. Those are the things she likes. She is only 10, however, so I’m sure someone older might have more exciting and interesting things to write about…LOL.

I think they are looking to see if you have energy, passion, drive about something–so the subject matters less than what the essay says about you.

Write about a day where you won at events you are good at.
P.S. I am first chair viola too!!!

I second what everyone else wrote about just making sure the essay reflects who you are and what you’re passionate about.

I play the viola also but I don’t play for school. Isn’t that weird, I know one other person who plays the viola and she is also the only person I know who is applying to boarding school.

Hi =]. Are you applying for The Governors Academy for fall 2010? I am too  maybe we’ll be peers.
I was also a bit confused with this prompt…I ended up writing about a vacation with my amazing family. Family is super-important to me, I’d just write about something that matters to you.

Maybe something about blocking every goal in hockey and your team won by 5 or something. Going to France and being able to interact with people. Winning an award for viola. you know?

Can I ask; are you applying as a boarding or day student?

im applying as a boarding student! And you?
I ended up writing about winning hockey playoffs
Thanks for all of your ideas!
