please Help ....

Hello … I plan to apply to US colleges this year and i happen to have problem with letters of recommendation … I know even as an international student i should have them otherwise my whole plan would go up to smoke so i would be very thankful if someone could help me … First of all, would admission offices check and control the letters with professors and teachers who wrote them to check accuracy of letters ? would it be better if i ask professors in US universities who know me to write or my own teachers in high school ? and finally do people who would write letters have to be my teachers or if they just know me would be enough?

thanks

Look at this:

Even if you don’t apply to MIT, the information contained therein should be of great assistance to you. Print it out and give to your letter writers.

Go with those who know you best – not just some US person because they are American. Most colleges that require rec letters need them from people who have taught you. Or perhaps a school master if not enough teachers are available. Translations (if English isn’t native language) should accompany them.

Can they verify? Sure. People try to be fraudulent sometimes.
