How to overcome with college related anxieties

Going to college is a new experience that many people want to pass throw but at the same time it scares them, for many of them life change completely: new friends, new teachers, etc, it’s a new environment for them, students starts a new life in some way. But all of this new stuff makes the students to be very anxious in the social life as well as in the academics matters.
I have some ideas about how to overcome with college anxieties
First of all get as much information as you can about the college you are going to attend, get some opinions from people who went there, etc. getting more information will help you know about how the college will be like and you wouldn’t fell so anxious about what are you are going to find there.
Once you are there try to find as many friends as you can, it will help you to reduce the social anxieties that many people have during the first days of college, try to go to some college events or get involve in some sports, this are the best ways to find friends quickly. Friends in college are very important because they are the “connection “or “door” to the fun time. Many people agree that during college there has to be some equilibrium between studying and “partying”, it has to be balanced; it is proven that students with a good social life studies more. In many colleges it is not obligatory to attend class, it’s your decisions but attending to them students will not only be more prepared for the exams, also they will be more in contact with other students in the same situation and they could help each other. Friends can play the role as supporters if you have any problems with college or other matters. So overall Friends are a key factor to reduce the college anxieties.
Most of the anxieties that the students have are related with the academic matters. To simplify this: they are worried about the courses and exams. A good way to deal with the exams anxieties is studying, but not only studying what you need for the exam, go beyond it, you will feel more comfortable and it will help with the anxieties. Talking to a counselor is also a good idea, they function is to help so try to arrange meetings with them because, they are going to advice you in a good way. The exams anxieties are mostly during the first semesters of college because afterwards the students gain experience and they feel more confident so the nervous and anxieties reduces.
Manage your time effectively so you can have time to have fun besides studying, you need that time to “refresh” your mind. Managing time well will give you more time to do other activities such as sports and social events. Many specialist says that sports are crucial in some way for the college students because while practicing them students forget about college, sports disconnects them from their problems and everything related to them.
Family plays the same role as friends here; they give support to the students. Many students go to college away from his families so they should be in contact as much as they can with them, this will help them a lot because they will not feel alone.
College related anxieties happens to everyone who passes throw this situation but student don’t have to be worried about them because they will be overcoming them while the time pass.
