<p>i chose UC Berkeley over Johns Hopkins. Johns Hopkins had offered me a merit scholarship that enabled me to attend Johns Hopkins for about the price of UC Berkeley.</p>
<p>is there anything i can do at this point? i know uc berkeley is a great school and everything, but i think now i should’ve chosen JHU.</p>
<p>has anyone ever heard of a student calling after he/she sent in the SIR declining the school and asking them to let the student in? i’m scared i’d just mess everything up if i got into this, but if it’s at all common, i’d love to know.</p>

<p>Enjoy your freshman year at Berkeley and if you still want JHU, apply to transfer as a sophomore. JHU has probably given “your” slot to someone on their wait list (assuming their yield allowed). You could give them a call tomorrow and ask, but at this point, I’d plan on attending UCB.</p>

<p>I went through the same thing you did, but it’s probably just cold feet. You already sent in your deposit to Berkeley, so try it out for a year, and if you don’t like it, you can always transfer.</p>
<p>I agree with HereWeGo2. Go to Berkeley with an open mind. If you don’t like it, you can apply to transfer.</p>

<p>Well, you have nothing to lose by asking. If they have offered your scholarship to someone else, that person may decline, and they may be willing to offer it to you again.</p>
