On the Common App, it asks: “Please list any community program/organization that has provided free assistance with your application process”

One of the organizations listed is Boy/Girl Scouts of America.

I am a Boy Scout (expecting Eagle Scout this fall). A few adult leaders in the troop have given me some advice with the process, but it’s nothing major. Should I list them as an organization?

Sorry if this question seems trivial

You are ok. Imo, it’s not intended for some occasional advice from BSA, teachers or friends. It’s more about private counsellors or organizations that assist in deeper and broader ways.

I agree – they are talking about programs like TRIO.

Does BSA offer a formal program for college assistance that the question might be referring to? My thinking is if their help wasn’t applicable, they wouldn’t be listed for that question.

What matters is a formal or organized program or relationship, not occasional advice.
