<p>I’ve noticed that many schools as well as the SSAT online application service have this statement as part of their application. I’m just wondering, if you did encounter this section, what type of response did you put, or did you just leave it blank? Did you leave more information about your interests or ECs, or did you talk about why you were held back a grade, etc.?</p>

<p>you could use this as an extra space to write an interesting story about who you are/what you’ve done etc. that will help them understand you more than just a list of your grades and EC’s.</p>

<p>You could also use this area if you felt you had something to justify; ie; a semester of low grades when you were sick with mono…</p>

<p>I used the space to write about the activities that I completed over the past two summers since I couldn’t find a spot anywhere else on the application to fit this information in.</p>
