You have worked hard-pat yourself on the back. As you may know the 3.7 GPA is on the edge of being competitive for the top tier schools, and SATs typically are higher than yours. As your gender is female, you already know the number of female applicant is higher and therefore more difficult to gain acceptance into the more elite schools. But the review by admissions takes in the GPA/rank/SATs/ECs-AND your answers to your essay questions, along with letters of recommendation by your teachers. If you feel NU is a good match for you, then make the effort to do your very best in your application. Be sure to include other schools as well-safeties are so very important in the college application process. Good Luck!

thankss so much. my school doesnt have rank, how will that factor into admissions? how will they compare two students from the same school?

If your school doesn’t rank, then the other aspects will play a more important part in the decision. You might also make sure that your gc knows of your keen interest in Northwestern. I have heard that sometimes admissions office personnel will call and talk to your guidance counselor. I do not know if Northwestern does this or not.
