My idiot friend is considering dropping 200 dollars to get fake transcripts that include SAT scores and sending them to a few schools. I keep telling him not to do it because I don’t want him to get caught. What’s going to happen to him if he gets caught? And will he get caught? He’s going to apply to a few schools in Washington State.

The colleges have gotten fake transcripts/SAT scores before, and will probably notice it. They also would want the SAT scores straight from the testing agency, so they won’t believe the scores sent from the “school.” Giving false information will make the college revoke the application, and probably get him in some kind of trouble. Tell your friend not to do it.

If caught, he will be rejected, or if alreadfy in college when caught, kicked out college. If he commits those acts in Washington when he is 18 or over, he can be charged and convicted of forgery, a class C felony allowing up to 5 years in jail and $10,000 fine. If he uses the documents to apply to out-of-state colleges, he can also be charged and convicted of the federal crimes of wire or mail fraud, depending on method he sends them, and imprisoned for up to 20 years in a federal penitentiary. If he commits the crimes as a juvenile, he could be charged with Washington’s equivalent juvenile offense to forgery and incacerated in a detention center until his 21st birthday.

Sorry glassesarechic? I don’t understand your response. All the colleges I’ve applied to so far have specifically asked for my ACT/SAT scores to be sent directly from the testing agency…
