<p>community service-

  • interacted with prisoners
  • Habitat for Humanity - helped landscape the houses
  • Resque Mission (homeless shelters) - cleaned/folded clothes
  • “Gleaning”- distributing unspoiled food to shelters and schools from farms
  • Kenya- UNICEF work- helping out in AID hospitals; working with patients afflicted with AIDS or other non-contagious diseases </p>

won some international and national competitions this year for leadership and writing.
Constant flute player- have been in several bands (actually invited to Europe to play in the summer)

Model UN- head director at school, Outstanding Speaker at college conference

<p>Recs are going to be very strong. Getting one from a dean in the humanities department. Another one is from my sophomore and (probably senior) year teacher (only sophomore in the AP BC class) </p>

IBs: Lit and Spanish </p>

<p>I think I need to improve my SAt scores? My mom is pretty–no not pretty-- really really discontent with my grade. Is it that bad? I had one A- in freshman year, 4.0 soph, and 3 in junior year. I’ve tried to explain that the classes this year was hard, but she doens’ tcare. </p>

<p>^ Ivies are a big reach for anyone. And your ECs, at least the way you present them kind of make me go ‘eh’.</p>

<p>Stanford probably isn’t going to happen. And everything else is reach-y for anyone, let’s be honest.</p>

<p>ADD MATCHES AND SAFETIES. And then go back and think about how you’re presenting your ECs on your app.</p>

<p>Apply to a handful (3/4 TOPS) of these reaches. And replace the rest with more reasonable goals. Playing russian roulette with colleges can lead to heart ache.</p>
