CHANCE ME PLEASE

Pre med, probably not b/c you are OOS, your class rank is low and the Math SAT is very low. Pre-med will involve a lot of Sci. and the Math part would give them red flags that you don’t have it under your belt which you will need for classes like organic chem.

Again no honors or AP Math would be another red-flag.

You have a good chance to get in under general, but I would really advise looking at the curriculum for Pre-Med

Take a gander it the courses that you are REQUIRED to take
http://www.prehealth.umd.edu/Web%20Documents/premedprereq1208.pdf

That is alot of Math you will need to endure.

Choose another major in the BA field and I would say yes…i.e Major in Foreign Language

tons of views yet one reply…why do people do this? chance me i`ll chance back.
BUMP

because no one wants to give the truth of bad chances lol

I don’t know, I wouldn’t say your chances are low, but they certainly aren’t high. Maybe 50%?? Your SAT is out of the mid 50%, and your class rank isn’t too impressive. Once more… you’re not very geographically diverse, most OOS applications do come from NY/NJ/PA. However, your ECs are strong, so… you do have a chance.

the pre-med thing looks like it would be the only like setback because thats intense and everyone with a 3.9 is basically applying to that.

thanks guys…I would rather have a general idea that my chances aren’t that great than get my hopes up and think that I`m a shoe-in at UMDCP…unlike most chance threads where kids have rediulously high SATs/GPAs and ask for chances when they know them. This is helping me put my chances in perspective, as is the point of a CHANCE thread.

I would say you have a 20 percent chance.

I forgot to mention in my first post, I applied with the Priorty Application (basically maryland’s version of Early Action). Don’t exactly know how that would affect my chances.
