Ok, so this fall was my first semester at college. My mom pays for everything, rent food, tuition all out of pocket. she did the same for my brother but he wasnt doing good so his junior year she pulled him out and made him go to the local community college. she said she would do the same if i didnt do good. long story short, i got 2 B’s 2 C’s and a D. so instead of pulling me out after a year, she said i cant go back for the spring to ‘redeem’ myself. to me, this is totally unfair because she gave my brother two years and agreed to give me 1, but instead is giving me half. and on top of that i told her the situation which caused me to receive a d and still is not seeing me eye to eye. please, anyone…what can i tell her in order to revceive the option to redeem myself.

She learned her lesson the first time around. Try to redeem yourself by taking some CLEP tests and earn extra college credits. Maybe this will prove your good intentions to her.

Call the financial aid office. Tell them you mom is not going to pay. Find out what loans you are eligible for that you can take out to cover your expenses. Or look for full time work while you earn money and go to school part time. Otherwise, go home and shine in CC. It’s her dime. Until you make it your dime, you are not “invested” in your education or your grades. Don’t think you can talk your way out of this one.

Your mom wants you to succeed. She believes that the best way for you to do that is to spend some time at the CC. It seems harsh, but what she is doing is not punishment, but guidance.

As Sunny said, you can pay for FSU yourself, or you can go to CC and work hard enough to prove to your mom that you have the maturity to return to a residential university.

Good luck.

Just tell her instead of going to CC you would rather join the military!

But seriously;
Try to get your frosh adviser involved. Your case is clasic first year frosh male.
I’m sure the advisor has lots of data supporting a turnaround. I hope.
Good luck!
