PLME worth it if brown is #1 choice?

I really want to go to brown. I intend to ( i think) apply early to PLME. If I check every box that puts me in the pile of general admissions if I don’t get in, is that a good idea if my #1 goal is brown. is it better to ditch PLME and apply to brown in general?
this is a bit disconcerting:
[Brown Program in Liberal Medical Education](http://bms.brown.edu/plme/Admissions_At_A_Glance.html)
where it says:
No. offered admission to other
Brown degree programs

do they mean: of kids that applied to PLME and did not get in, zero of them got into brown general undergrad program.
because if so then I will not take my chances with PLME.
Let me know what you all think!
thanks

Being rejected from PLME does in no way guarantee rejection from Brown. One of my closest friends and the boyfriend of another very close friend both applied PLME, got rejected from PLME, but are still Brown students, and I’m sure they’re not the only ones.

And if Brown is your first choice regardless of PLME, then it’s your first choice. And if it is your first choice without a shred of a doubt, just ED it! :)

I’m applying to the PLME too… but RD instead of ED. If Brown is your first choice, even without PLME, check the box that still binds you to Brown. I’m not sure why that line is there on that link… I know for a fact that some who get rejected for PLME get offered spots at Brown in general (I think about 100 or so). The PLME is only a few more essays, so it’s definitely worth a shot! And if you don’t get in… you still have a shot at getting into Brown :)

thanks everyone!
i appreciate it.
i am still going back and forth on stanford or brown early…

do you live on the west coast?

I was just at the Brown’s Campus Tour and the pretty, kind camp tour told me that there is no effect on your chances of getting in to the college even if you apply to the PLME.

I wish Stanford had a pharmacy or BS/MD program, I totally would have applied there.

tour guide*

Ya i live on the west coast.
I know that applying to plme doesnt help me in the main brown applicant pool, but i just want to be reassured that it doesnt hurt me.
Thanks all!
